Casablanca, Morocco

The first thing I always think of when I think of Morocco is OLIVES. I looooove olives. Think I get that from my dad. Luckily the few times I've been to Casablanca has been before a trip home to YYZ or just before my parents are visiting me. I then stock up for my dad & myself.

Onwards with the picture tour.

Fresh olives in the market. The variety is amazing.

I had such a hard time deciding what to get. Such pretty colours that I wanted to get EVERYTHING!
(I settled on a purple rectangle platter & a yellow salad bowl)

Was going to buy a pair but they don't look that comfortable....

Love love love the colours!

The Grand Mosque

View from the mosque

Dinner!

Appetizers. Was definitely interesting. I'm not a huge fan of sweet & savoury together but the sweet chicken turnover was quite good

Yes not much to look at but was really good. Beef Tagine with apricots & prunes (I ate around the fruit)

Tagine I eventually bought
(The bottom part broke in its journey home. Boo)

Tea glasses

Lunch: Beef Tagine

Cape town, South Africa

My first visit to Cape town was in September 2008. Had a blast as we did a tour from the hotel. We managed to see so much in a matter of hours. Cape town is absolutely breathtaking!

Had to start off our evening after landing with wine...

 and a delicious steak dinner!

The next morning our guide picked us up and off we went.

Seal Island

THE best calamari I have EVER had!!

 Cheesy tourist pic ;)

Crazy vicious monkeys roaming the parking lot

Penguin Crossing

These little guys were so cute!

That's a whale tail. We managed to see them jumping while driving along the coast

Gorgeous views eh?

So that was my lovely summertime trip. Next trip was in July 2009. Silly me didn't realize that South Africa had a winter, let alone in July. I had packed summer clothes and was NOT happy when we landed and it was freezing cold. But, as an eager somewhat new crew I still ventured out to visit Table Mountain.

Winter + summer clothes + top of mountain + wind = BAD idea!!!

HAD to get a hot chocolate to warm up

Um...ok?

LOL

Dhaka layover

In cloudy Dhaka at the moment. Good, non-busy flight. I didn't get much rest before the flight so I'm pretty tired now. Brought my gym clothes along because I mentally convinced myself I would get a workout in this layover. FAIL!  I'm way too tired for that. I wasn't too tired to order room service though ;)

Yummy prawn bhuna curry with naan. Deeeelicious!

Bed time for me now even though its 3:35 pm local time. Zzzzz...

Oh yea! A fellow crew member told me about complaint a passenger had about him on a previous flight. this was definitely a new one. So this passenger was apparently watching a movie & had his headphones on. The crew was trying to ask him something & the customer was replying VERY loudly. You know that loud voice you use when you forget you are listening to something that's at a different volume to reality? Anyways the crew asked him to please take his headphones off during their conversation as he was being too loud in the cabin. The passenger complied but then later asked for a complaint form .....he complained that the crew should not have been allowed to control the volume of his voice!!! Lol. I don't know where people come up with these things sometimes!

Speaking of which, I think I need to compile & post top 10 crew pet peeves soon. Keep an eye out for that ;)
